It's Nice to Be Appreciated

Thank you Rusty for dropping this certificate off the other day.  During a time when I feel like I do absolutely nothing well, cannot seem to balance my new job AND all of the other things I "attempt" to do; this really lifted my spirits.  Thank you so much for the pick-me-up!!!

Week 38 - My Weekly Shop

I had another awesome trip to Publix...at least I thought so.  I didn't have any competitor coupons, but I got a REALLY nice jump on my homeless donation, bought frozen veggies for my friend Theresa and her Feed the Flock ministry, AND stocked up big time for my family.  I really find it ironic that right before my garden will begin producing that my freezers are full of frozen veg, but that does take some of the pressure off this summer for sure!  Here's the breakdown:

I used 10 $.75/1 Mueller's Pot Sized peelies.

I used 9 of the $1/1 Quaker Big Chewy from 3/23 RP insert.
8 of these boxes are for our homeless friends - how cool is it that I was able to get 40 protein bars for $1.36!  That gives me all kinds of wiggle room this week!!!!

Week 37 - Time to Stock Up!!!!

I hope everyone bought this Sunday's paper because there are phenomenal coupons in it!  I bought my 10 at the Dollar Tree on Saturday (yes for $1, and yes on Saturday).  Lots of stores still have the Sunday paper until Wednesday now, so you still have time to snag a few if you haven't already.  So, in this paper is a $10/$50 grocery purchase Target coupon, which can be used at my Publix.  Unfortunately, I got to checkout and my Publix no longer accepts these coupons for the full value!!!  They did however adjust it down to $5, honoring the competitive coupon policy.  So, at the last minute I put back the ground chuck I had snagged as my "freebie" and I have to say that I am still quite content with my haul.  In fact it makes me kind of giggle that my freezer is now stocked with veggies AND I was able to get a jump on my homeless donation.  Here's the breakdown:

1 Motts Wild Grape Juice - $2.87 BOGO.  I paid $.44.
I used the $1/1 Motts printable.

7 Sundown Naturals 50mg B-6 150 count - $3.59 each.  I paid $-9.87!!!
I used 7 of the $3/1 Sundown Natural 120ct or larger Publix coupons from Purple Advantage flyer AND 7 of the $2/1 Sundown Naturals from 4/13 RP insert.  Any vitamin under $5 AND 120 ct or larger will be a MM!)

2 Domino Sugar - $1.99 each.  I paid $1.19 each, or $2.38 for both.
I used 2 of the $.40/1 Domino sugar (which doubled to $.80) from 4/6 RP insert.

1 Colgate Toothpaste - $1.95 BOGO.  I paid $-.02!!!
I used 1 of the $.50/1 Colgate toothpaste (which doubled to $1) from 4/13 SS insert.  I am definitely picking up more of these tomorrow before the ad ends!

I used 6 of the $1/1 Hormel Completes Breakfst bowls from 4/6 SS insert.  My husband wanted these to put in his desk at work.

I used 10 of the $.50/1 Birds Eye Steamfresh (which doubled to $1) from 4/13 SS insert.

1 Fresh Green Beans - $1.15.  No coupons used.

10 Dole Pineapple - $1.39 BOGO.  I paid $.39 for 2, or $1.95 for all 10.
I used 5 of the $.50/2 Dole Canned Fruit from 4/6 SS insert.  These are for the homeless.

2 Cucumbers - 2/$1.49.  No coupons used.
Not pictured because my husband and children confiscated them as I was setting up everything for the picture - I cannot wait until mine are growing in the garden and they can eat all they want!

I also used my $10/$50 Target coupon that was adjusted down to $5.

My total at the register was $.49, or $7.25 after tax saving $120.46.

Week 36 - My Weekly Shop

I had an incredibly frustrating week couponing for the homeless this week.  I really wanted to pick up more of the Hawaiian Punch and try to do cream of soups again since they are on sale $5/5, but the Best Meals coupons for the soup was expired AND all of the stores were out of the juice.  So, this trip was entirely for my family - and not a great one at that.  Here's the deets:

4 12-packs Coke products - B2G2 at $5.59.  I paid $5.18 for all 4.
I used 1 of the $2/2 Coke products printable (no longer available) AND 2 of the $2/2 Coke products Publix coupon from the green "Healthy Savings" flyer.

1 Bird's Eye Frozen Peas - $1.85 BOGO.  I paid $-.07!!!
I used a $1/1 Birds Eye Kroger mailer coupon.

I used a $.50/2 Nestle Milk Target printable coupon AND $.55/2 Nestle Mile from 1/26 RP insert.

2 Maxwell House Coffee - $4.39 each.  I paid $4.39 for both.
I used the BOGO Maxwell House Publix coupon from Family Celebrations.

1 Diamond Crystal Kosher Salt - $.79.  I paid $-.01!!!!
I used the $.40/1 Diamond Kosher Salt printable (which doubled to $.80).

1 Motts Wild Grape - $2.87 BOGO.  I paid $.44.

My total at the register was $15.20, or $18.39 after tax, saving $46.09.  Not a really great haul, but considering I bought pop, coffee and salad dressing I'm pretty happy.

Week 36 - Publix Freebies

It's Tuesday...and I always try to make another run into Publix before the new ad starts - usually freebies or money-makers pop up and/or I've done a coupon swap and I need to snag a few things.  Today was ok, but I am a little disappointed that they were out of the Hawaiian Punch - our homeless friends love it, and I wanted to add those to my donation this week.   Here's the breakdown:

4 2-pack Success Rice - $1.49.  I paid $.49 each or $1.96.
Used 4 of the $.50/1 Success product (which all doubled to $1) from 3/9 RP insert.  These went over really well with our homeless friends last Saturday, and these are the coupons I got in my swap!

6 4-packs Motrin - $1.09 each.  I paid $-2.46!!!!
Used 3 of the $3/2 Motrin from 3/9 RP insert.

2 Suavitel Fabric Softener - 2/$5.  I paid $.50 each, or $1.00 total.

2 BC Suddenly Salad - 10/$10.  I paid FREE.
I used 1 $.50/2 Suddenly Salad printable (which doubled to $1) AND $1/2 Suddenly Salad Publix Best Meals emailed coupon.

1 16-ct Lipton Tea - $1.29.  I paid $-.71!!!
I used $1/1 Lipton Tea from Publix Best Meals email AND $.50/1 Lipton printable (which doubled to $1).

Week 35 - My Weekly Shop

Alright, it's soup time again at Publix, BUT it's Chunky soup and it's my hubbies favorite.  So, no huge soup haul for the homeless because quite frankly, I use virtually every other soup coupon I have for donations, and this one just isn't going to be it.  Other than that, there are a couple of really great deals going on at Publix right now....here's what I bought:

3 Suavitel Fabric Softener - 2/$5.  I paid $.50 each, or $1.50 total.
I used 3 of the $1/1 Fabuloso or Suavatil Publix printable coupons from Family Celebrations AND 3 of the $1/1 Suavitel from 3/23 SS insert.

10 Campbell's Chunky Soup - $1.99 BOGO.  I paid $.99 for 2, or $4.95 for all 10.
I used 5 of the $.50/2 Campbells Chunky Soup (which doubled to $1) from 2/9 SS insert.  There is also a printable for $1/3 Campbells Chunky HERE.

1 Land o' Lakes Half Sticks Butter - $2.50.  I paid $1.50.
I used $1/1 Land O Lakes printable.

Week 35 - Money-makers at Publix Rock!!!

Since last week was so horrible donation-wise, I really wanted to get a jump on things this week (plus I needed to redeem myself a little!)  Here's the breakdown (keep in mind that everything BUT the Motrin and Right Guard will end with today's ad at Publix - Run and Get POWERADE if you like it!!!!).

8 4-packs Motrin - $1.09 each.  I paid $-3.28!!!!  Used 4 of the $3/2 Motrin from 3/9 RP insert.  (I know I had told everyone that my store did not carry these - it was true!  But I went to a bigger store that I knew had a trial/travel size section - and they had them!!!!)

2 Quaker Instant Oatmeal - $2.98 BOGO.
No coupons used.

2 Post Honey Bunches of Oats Morning Energy - $3.29 BOGO.  I paid $-.71!
Used 2 of the $1/1 Post cereal Target printable coupons AND 2 of the $1/1 Honey Bunches of Oats printable.

Used 1 $1/2 Dial from 3/16 RP insert.

4 8-pack POWERADE - $5.85 BOGO.  I paid $3.70 for all 4.
Used 2 of the $2/2 Coca-cola products Publix coupon from green "Healthy Savings" flyer AND 1 of the $2/2 Coca-cola products printable (nla) AND 2 of the $1/1 Powerade printables (the only way I can tell you to find this one is to go to iheartpublix.com and search by Powerade).  Yes it is a Coke product!!!!!

4 Right Guard Deodorant - $3.61 each.  I paid $-.78!
Used 2 of the B1G1 Right Guard Xtreme Publix coupons from the purple Health and Beauty flyer AND 4 of the $2/1 Right Guard Xtreme from 3/16 RP insert.  Now that I am typing this up it looks like I should have grabbed the Xtreme Clear......

My total at the register was $3.20, or $7.11 after tax, saving $63.68.

Note - I know that the oatmeal is for the homeless.  I'm not sure about the deodorant or soap.  I was told that we have plenty of those items in storage, but someone needs to go and get them.  Guess I'll decide when and if I can get over to the storage facility this week!  I will also be donating 4 of the Motrin to make the oatmeal basically free - a good start to the week for our homeless friends.

Week 34 - Weekly Totals

I have to say that last week was not the best week ever donation-wise.  I did go and buy 20 more cans of soup for a separate donation, but this was basically it for me.  Here it is:

4 Quaker Instant Oatmeal - 2.98 BOGO, OR $5.96 for all 4.

1 24-pack Ramen - $5.29.
